UMKC named new Sirridge Professor

Dr. Lynda Payne, associate professor in the History Department of the UMKC College of Arts and Sciences, was named to the Sirridge Professorship in the Medical Humanities.

Losing your marbles
With 674 players, the “World’s Largest Marble Tournament” was held at UMKC Aug. 23.

Last year, marble enthusiasts attempted to break the record, but failed with only about 500 participants, leaving them just short of the 569 players in the world record event held in 1998.
