New library service
The Miller Nichols Library is offering a new service for faculty and staff.
Librarians can now scan pages from books in the library, then e-mail them to the desktops of professors. The service is free and usually takes no more than three days.
Cindy Thompson, librarian and main advocate for the project, said many people have wanted this service.
Help for the mind and body
Mental and physical health are important to success in college.
During weekly “Tuesday Tune-ups,” different volunteers at MindBody Connection each week present topics in holistic health to help students learn more about their bodies.
MindBody, jointly run by the UMKC Counseling Center and UMKC Student Health and Wellness Center, hosts the Tuesday sessions from 12.
