Union wants UMKC to apologize
February 8, 2010
Members of a local union are calling for UMKC to make apologies.
The International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental & Reinforcing Iron Workers Local No. 10, located at 1000 E. 10th St., organized an ongoing protest near the Volker campus.
Standing at Volker Boulevard and Rockhill Road with a sign that says “UMKC Should Apologize,” the union workers are concerned the Curtis Company, a non-union contractor out of South Carolina, is doing a portion of the work on the Miller Nichols Library expansion.
